Trip Itinerary
Join us for an incredible six days of wildlife viewing in Chobe National Park and the notorious Okavango Delta. Take a Mokoro ride into the center of the Delta, explore the riverbank, and go on long game drives through the Moremi Game Reserve, the Khwai Concession, and the Savuti Region. You can see families of elephants and hippos, herds of zebra, antelope, giraffe, and wildebeest, as well as the extremely rare and stunning white and black rhino. This amazing part of Botswana is home to some of the most amazing species on the planet.
Even though the aforementioned creatures are beautiful, some of the world’s most elegant and lethal predators lurk in the distance. These include the powerful lion, as well as the leopard, cheetah, hyena, and crocodile. This magnificent sanctuary in the center of Botswana has a lot to offer and will undoubtedly astound you at every turn.
Early on the morning of our first safari day, we drive the forty-five minutes from Maun to the Mokoro station. Here, we’ll set out to explore the notorious Okavango Delta in a traditional dugout boat. Our guide will make the most of our time on the island, allowing us to embark on a long game walk in the afternoon to hunt prey on foot. We will stalk herds of zebra and wildebeest, exactly like the many big cats that live here. We spend the night under the stars and enjoy a delectable dinner in front of the fire in the evening.
Overnight Camping
We take a leisurely canoe paddle back to the Mokoro station after a filling breakfast, and then we board the Land Cruiser once again to enter the Xiini area of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve, which is the center of Moremi. Situated next to the Okavango Delta’s sole designated wildlife reserve, the Moremi Wildlife Reserve is home to some extremely striking landscapes and creatures, including the endangered black rhino, giraffe, hippo, and elephant. Its stunning environment will captivate you with its magnificent views of meadows, lagoons, and floodplains.
Overnight Camping
We now head out to the Khwai Concessions for a game drive after packing up our camp. After arriving, we will have a two-hour boat journey through the Khwai Concessions, a region known for its varied beauty that includes a breathtaking array of woods, lagoons, floodplains, and wildlife-rich islands. With resident species like the lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, and innumerable others roaming this magnificent terrain, game watching is fantastic all year round. If you’re feeling daring, we can take you on a nighttime drive in the Khwai tonight.
Overnight Camping
As we leave the Concession, we head towards Savuti after a filling breakfast and a decent cup of coffee, hoping to spot some last-minute animals. We’ll spend the day on a nice game drive, taking in the variety of wildlife and wildness that Savuti has to offer. Savuti is renowned for its predators, particularly its lion and hyena populations, which we might be fortunate enough to see up close. After enjoying a delectable home-cooked meal over a campfire, spend the night outside.
Overnight Camping
We depart Savuti for Chobe National Park for our last game drive after a filling breakfast. We will take a prolonged game drive through one of Africa’s densest wildlife populations as part of our afternoon exploration of the Chobe Game Reserve. Not only do antelopes and giraffes wander the plains, but lions and other natural predators walk free, and this region is home to one of the world’s greatest populations of elephants. We head back to camp for the evening after our game drive and spend our final night there by the open fire.
Spending the night camping
A game drive through Chobe National Park rounds up our tour on the last day of our journey. In the afternoon, we’ll board a riverboat and go downstream to the area where the animals go to escape the scorching afternoon sun. Admire herds of buffalo and wildebeest grazing close to the bank, families of elephants bathing in the mud along the coast, and a sight of the hippo and crocodile, the river’s powerful predators, as they wait for their next meal. Following a pleasant afternoon spent lounging by the river, we return to Kasane, where you can arrange to go to Victoria Falls for your subsequent excursion.
